Winter Storm Warning in Effect!

Winter Storm Warning in Effect!

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Winter Storm Warning that is in effect from midnight TONIGHT through 4 PM Thursday. This storm is expected to dump 6 to 10 inches of snow throughout eastern Pennsylvania and central and northern New Jersey.

Heavy snow will make travel difficult, visibility of one-quarter of a mile or less is expected at times. Roads may be impassable during the heaviest part of the storm, which is expected to hit our area between 5 AM and 10 AM Thursday. We recommend staying off the roads if possible.

The weight of the snow may also cause widespread power outages. This storm has the potential to cause major devastation, and we recommend taking steps to prepare immediately.

Prepare and Stay Safe During the Storm

Only travel during this storm in an absolute emergency. If you must travel, make sure you have an extra flashlight, food, bottled water and blankets in your vehicle. Let someone know your destination, your route and when you expect to arrive.

If you'll be weathering the storm at home, locate flashlights, batteries and candles. Make sure you have extra blankets and warm clothes in case of an extended power outage. Fill up your car's gas tank, and charge cell phones and other electronic devices before the storm hits. Make sure you have a supply of water, necessary prescription medications, etc. in case the snow makes it difficult to get out for a few days.
